Ilocos Sur is a magnificent province in the northern section of the island of Luzon. It is a culturally rich province that symbolizes old Spanish and Filipino ancestors. To show and share their treasures with the whole world, the locals created a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”.

Kannawidan Ylocos Celebration is a well-known festival in Ilocos Sur. The Kannawidan Festival is vital to every Ilocano because it showcases the different indigenous customs and traditions that were passed down from ancestors in previous years. This Festival features local dances, religious rites, and cookery demonstrations offering the greatest and most appetizing Ilocano delicacies. The event also highlights various talents and abilities, as well as native dances and music, which are known as street dancing. This event also demonstrates the town's profound religion. Furthermore, Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is a memorable occasion for all Ilocanos since it brings vital feelings into their life by carrying their culture and values. The festival is crucial because it ties us to our culture and customs while also allowing us to promote our community to many platforms in society.

In addition, the fest is important to Ilocanos’ because this is also their way of giving thanks to the Almighty not only for the bountiful blessings but also for the rich heritage of the city. The festival is a religious celebration. A celebration that is important to the Ilocanos since the festival embodies the beauty, spirit, and heart of the province and its people.
