Education amid Covid-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic had a disruptive effect on education all around the world. When covid-19 invade our country, everything has collapsed, including the cessation of studies. But, after a few months since the coronavirus started, the DepEd (Department of Education) has already come up with a solution, and they announced that students should return to their studies. The study started again but, it was no longer the same as the previous traditional classes due to the effect of the coronavirus.

Education during the pandemic is complicated because we are innovating and are not used to this type of learning. The former traditional class and face-to-face learning have now become distance learning platforms, such as modular and online classes. Distance learning makes technology better because this is what we use in our studies. Schools scrambled to conduct lessons online so that students’ education would not be too adversely affected. But, this has brought challenges and innovations to all students and teachers due to the effects of covid-19. In the first few months since distance learning began, many complaints and comments have emerged due to the difficulty of the situation. Students also suffer due to the lack of gadgets to be used in learning and those learners who suffer from internet access because there are areas where the signal is weak. But over time, students and teachers are getting used to this kind of situation. This situation is difficult, but somehow, we are still learning something.

The sole connection through a webcam with the teacher often is not enough to ensure human development in terms of learning. Students had difficulties understanding the lesson when there were still face-to-face classes. So, It is more difficult now because of the pandemic that affects every country. It also affects the economic growth, the citizens, and also the quality of education of the students. No matter how difficult the situation is, always understand that education is a long-term investment that will repay our societies in the future. Even though this pandemic brought so many changes, the important thing is that we can finish and graduate school to achieve our dreams and desires in life.
